The story is told of a man who just moved to a small community. He picked up a few things at the store and went to the counter to pay for them. The lady behind the counter asked if he was new in town. He said he was. Then he asked, “What are the people in this town like?” To which she replied, “What were the people like in the town you came from? He said, “They were kind and generous, often offering a helping hand.” The lady said, “You will find the same kind of people here.”
Some time later, another man moved to this community. As he went to the counter to pay for his goods, the lady asked if he was new in town. He said he was. The man asked, “What are the people in this town like?” She replied, “What were the people like in the town you came from? He said, “They were grumpy people with negative attitudes, often just thinking of themselves.” She said, “You will find the same kind of people here.”
It is our attitude within that reflects the kind of people we attract. Approach each day with a heart that is open to receive, a heart that expects to find joy and you will not be disappointed.
Nehemiah 8:10 says, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Come, expecting to find joy at Wow, Women of Worth Christian Retreat on November 2 and you will be refreshed
WOW, Women of Worth Christian Retreat, began as the hearts of four inspired women, Yvette Emard, Terilee Harrison, Nancy Burroughs, and Linda Olson came together to share their dreams. It became clear that this was God-inspired and He continued to confirm His hand upon it. One of the confirmations came as the Painted Turtle graciously opened up their doors to this event. It is the perfect environment of serenity and healing.
Each of the featured speakers, Terilee Harrison, Nancy Burroughs and Linda Olson have climbed a rugged terrain over many years and found the peace, serenity and love that only God can bring. Their stories will inspire, uplift, and empower you to rise to a new level.
